LO2 Job Roles Report

Artist

The key functions of an artist are to be able to visual represent the idea given to him sometimes even have multiple visions of said idea. An artist has got to be open for judging and be able to change the idea shown at any given moment as whats important is what the customer wants and not what the artist thinks is best. The artists is very important for the production as he makes the concept art for the production that gives shape to the whole production.

Editor

The key function of an editor is to combine footage and make it look good. The editor needs to be able to show the idea that the director whats to express throughout the film/video.  The editor needs to know how to edit shots to make them look professional and be able to change the idea/give good ideas. The editor is very important as he finished off the product and makes it complete.


Role Comparison

These two jobs are quite similar a they both have to be quite creative and also be open to feedback from the directors. The artist makes up the visual idea of the film while the editor has to make sure that idea is expressed in the film.
